Lipsticks with a glittery pastel finish flying out of a windows 95 style window

Glitter pastel

This project just kept on growing. It all started from a single glittery lipstick, made as an exploration of product design, and a study in more complex Blender materials. Then, I experimented with the composition, I wanted something more dynamic. Instead of a static shot on a table, I made it fall from above, but it felt lonely. So I decided to create a small collection of them, with a pastel, vaporwave inspired palette.

Firstly, the lipsticks were "Kernel Panic Studio" branded, but that didn’t feel right. So I created a brand just for this occasion, "Leonie Cosmetics". I wanted this collection to feel like a part of a bigger brand, so I made a logo that would blend seamlessly other cosmetics brands.

To strengthen the art direction and add a retro feel, I made a small ad series for the collection in a Windows 95 style. But It still felt kind of syntetic, what cosmetics brand launches a product without a model shot? So I worked on three portraits that captured the vibe of the collection and integrated them into the ad campaign.

The final touch was the packaging. I wanted it to feel like a real product, so I designed a box that would look right at home on a Sephora shelf. I’m really happy with the result, and I feel like I learned a lot from this project.
